Anyone that knows me, knows I love anything lemon. When I saw these cookies I was excited to be able to eat a lemon cookie again. Much to my disappointment, these cookies were not very good. There was very little actual lemon flavor, but there was a great deal of other unusual spices. I am not sure of what those other spices were, but one tasted like anise (used in Italian wedding cookies)… licorice flavor. I think I tasted come clove as well. These lemon creme cookies did not live up to my expectations.
