I had never tried one of these and was really hoping for something pretty good. With the low calorie count I knew I could not expect greatness but at least a decent flavor. I couldn’t even finish the first bite. My husband was the same. They look and smell good. There was an almost chemical taste to them that I can’t really place.

I have had an opposite experience to that cmac668 had had: surprisingly great taste and texture. Will order again (and again, and again… 🙂 )

Like most people buying these products, we’re doing it to solve a medical problem. So, how delectable it is ends up being secondary to “DID it solve my problem?” As an osteopenic, as well as a cardiovascular patient, and diabetic, I need to watch carbs, fat, and have to take a ton of constipating calcium. I can solve the carb problem in lots of ways, but fiber is complicated. I have had to get the fiber but usually with a high calorie and fat cost. These muffins and bars are light, tasty enough, low in calories, fat, and carbs, and pack a much needed wallop with the fiber. I still get daily fiber from whole grain cereals (Kashi Go is the star!), edamame, some vegetables and fruits, (and dark chocolate!), but these Great Carb products are a great, simple addition. Best of all, when I travel, or have to miss my own cooking, I can easily take these with me, keeping me on track. Could this cinammon muffin taste better? Sure! There seems to be flavor science that could help. But for me, they are excellent at getting the job done, and taste good enough.
